Ross Collins is a fine artist and designer originating from Watford who has studied at The Surrey Institute of Art & Design, Cambridge University and Hertfordshire University where he gained his M.A.
As a graphic designer he has worked for a range of clients such as Zurich and Warner Bros. His background in design has influenced the composition and layout of his fine art and for the last several years he has specialised in analog collage.
Taking inspiration from Pop Art and contemporary collagists such as Derek Gores he creates portraits of famous icons from the world of music and film. Books, magazines and record sleeves are used to create his imagery as well as any other printed material that comes through his letterbox. He overloads his work with information and is particularly interested in how typography draws the viewer in, forcing them to stop interact with the collage.
He has exhibited his artwork across the country in venues such as the Mall Galleries in London and Homerton College.
